English Premier League champions Manchester City have purportedly submitted a £100 million transfer bid to Tottenham for Harry Kane, Sky Sports reports.
The 28-year-old informed Spurs hierarchy of his desire to leave his boyhood club in search of trophies and advancement last month.
Harry Kane has not won a major trophy with the Spurs in his seven years with the senior team despite winning the Premier League Golden Boot thrice in 2015-2016, 2016-2017 and 2020-2021 seasons.
In the 2020-2021 season, Harry Kane stunned the premier league by winning the Golden Boot as well as the Playmaker awards with the highest number of assists. This feat had earlier been recorded by Thierry Henry and Alan Shearer.
The England captain have now been valued at £100 million by the Citizens board who have just lost their veteran striker, Kun Aguero to Barcelona.
Aguero’s exit meant that Manchester City are left with Gabriel Jesus and Ferran Torres in the number nine position with both players not having shown enough to convince Pep Guardiola, Manchester City manager.
Harry Kane averaged double digits goal for Spurs in seven consecutive seasons while hitting over 20 goals five times even though the team did not clinch a major trophy.
